Frequently Asked Questions

Is 7EMI free to use?

Yes. Every calculator on 7EMI is completely free, with no sign-up, no account, and no usage limits.

How is EMI calculated?

EMI is calculated using the formula EMI = P × r × (1+r)n / ((1+r)n − 1), where P is the loan principal, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100), and n is the number of monthly installments.

Are the currency exchange rates live?

Yes — the converter fetches near real-time rates for major world currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY, AUD, CAD, AED, SGD and CNY. If the live feed is temporarily unavailable, an approximate offline rate is shown and clearly labeled as such.

What is a healthy BMI range?

For most adults, a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered a healthy weight range. Below 18.5 is underweight, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30+ is classified as obese. BMI is a general screening indicator, not a diagnosis — see our Disclaimer for details.

Does 7EMI store the numbers I enter?

No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser. Loan amounts, weight, birth dates, and other inputs are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I use 7EMI on my phone?

Yes — the site is fully responsive and works smoothly on phones, tablets, and desktop browsers alike.

Can I bookmark or link directly to one calculator?

Yes. Each calculator has its own URL section — for example 7emi.com/#currency opens directly to the Currency Converter.

Do you offer an API or embeddable widget?

Not currently, but it's something we're considering. Let us know if that would be useful to you.

I found a bug or incorrect result — what should I do?

Please contact us with the calculator name and the inputs you used, and we'll look into it as quickly as possible.

Does the EMI calculator include processing fees or other charges?

No. The EMI figure reflects only principal and interest, calculated on the reducing-balance method most banks use. Processing fees, insurance, or other charges vary by lender and are not included — check your loan offer document for the exact total cost.

Which currencies does the converter support?

USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY, AUD, CAD, AED, SGD, CNY, CHF, ZAR, BRL, RUB and SAR — the currencies most commonly searched for worldwide. Let us know if you'd like another one added.

How does the GST/Discount calculator handle the order of discount and tax?

Discount is applied to the original price first, and GST/VAT is then applied on the discounted amount — this matches how most retail and invoicing systems calculate the final payable price.

What compounding frequency should I choose for the Compound Interest calculator?

Use whatever frequency your bank or investment product actually compounds at — this is usually stated in the product's terms. Monthly compounding gives a slightly higher return than yearly, for the same stated annual rate.

Does the Unit Converter support temperature as well as length and weight?

Yes — switch the toggle at the top of the Unit Converter to move between Length, Weight, and Temperature (Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin).

Is there a dark mode?

Yes — use the circular toggle in the top-right corner of the header. Your preference is remembered on your device for future visits.

Why is 7EMI free, and are there ads?

7EMI is free to keep it useful for as many people as possible. We may show non-intrusive advertising or relevant partner links in the future to help cover hosting costs — see our Affiliate Disclosure for how that works.

Is there a 7EMI mobile app?

Not at the moment. The website is fully mobile-responsive and works well when added to your phone's home screen from your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option.
